Doctor Ena: Family and Kids
Maybe you dreamed of springtime in Paris, and vacations on far-away beaches or of a life whose schedule was set by the next big concert that came into town.
But that’s not the life that you are leading. No, yours is far better. Yours is surrounded by love and happiness (well, most of the time) and in the presence of the children that you are raising.
Family and kids are really what it’s all about.
Our family and kids are the reasons why we log long hours at work and then, without pause, pick them up and move them from activity to activity without so much as complaint – at least not one that’s audible. Although, I have to tell you, sometimes I can just about implode listening to some of the insanity that I hear on the sidelines of youth soccer games. That’s definitely a story for later.
Our family and kids are the reasons why we drive a minivan. (And, hey, let’s face it, we make it look good. Sure, we never thought that driving a minivan was something that we’d ever would do in a million years. But now that we have one, we couldn’t imagine driving anything else. Well, we might imagine it, and maybe even secretly wish that that box with the sliding doors on either side will magically turn into a convertible, but where would we put the carseats? I mean, really?)
Children keep us young at heart, and remind us what is most important in this world – and why each of us willingly rolls out of bed in the morning.
There is no resources more valuable than our family and kids. They fill our lives with laughter and fill our hearts with joy – even when they are filling the ice maker with peanut butter or riding the dog around the living room like it’s some kind of rodeo in there.
